EXPAND

We are a community of creative, curious individuals, diverse in our interests. Some love being active and look forward to weekly bike trips, pickleball tournaments, aqua aerobics or water volleyball—there’s even a skydiving, zip-lining centenarian among us. Others like to take it easy at concerts, lectures, travel and discussion groups. Ours is a richly diverse community of authors, poets, artists, business folk, teachers, and homemakers, to name a few. What we all have in common is friendship and a real pursuit of happiness.

When you love where you live.

You’ll hear it again and again: there’s something necessary and vital about community. When people come together and get involved, the camaraderie, the bonds, and the togetherness make a real difference. There’s empathy, shared interests, novel experiences, and new friendships. It’s that community engagement that makes retirement living here something more—it’s simply living.

For residents, by residents

Our communities are full of passionate people. To celebrate that, we started Shine!, a life enrichment program. It’s all about getting in touch with the unique skills and interests of the individuals who make up our communities, and giving everyone the space to be a teacher—and a student. Through this program, we invite everyone to tell us what’s important and interesting to them, and then we make those experiences happen.

Volunteer

Join the Welcoming Committee, help run the library, chapel or bring your expertise to event planning. Many residents volunteer to lead activities or visit residents in the Care Center or help run the Seashell Market, our community sundry store or the La Cage resale shop. Whatever your specialty or passion, your assistance is always welcome and appreciated.

If you are not a resident of Carlsbad By The Sea, but you are interested in learning more about the variety of volunteer opportunities, please contact our volunteer coordinator Shawnn Saenz at 760.435.2308 or via email CBTSgivesback@frontporch.net.

Make a donation

Thanks to generous donors and supporters, the Front Porch Communities Foundation (FPCF), a 501(c)3 nonprofit charitable organization, helps older people flourish. Gifts to the FPCF assist residents who outlive their resources and support community improvements that enhance the quality of life. Employees also benefit through donations to the HEART Fund and Scholarship Funds. Your charitable donations through FPCF are tax-deductible as allowed by the IRS.

FPCF works with each Front Porch community, its executive director, and residents to raise funds that benefit your community.
